SECURITY SITUATION IN AN INDUSTRIALIZING SOUTHWESTERN COMMUNE (Case Study Duc Hoa Dong Commune, Duc Hoa District, Long An Province)

Abstract

Duc Hoa Dong, located in Duc Hoa district, is a typical industrializing commune in Long An province. This paper uses qualitative data from localities’ reports and in-depth interviews with local residents in 2023 to explore the security situation in the commune. According to some residents, the security situation in the area has noteworthy aspects that raise concerns about whether there should be adjustments in the governance of Duc Hoa Dong in the process of industralization, modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
