IDENTIFYING RAGLAI CULTURAL VALUES IN COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN KHANH HOA PROVINCE (The Case of Former Ninh Thuan Province)
Abstract
The article focuses on examining the potential to leverage the traditional cultural values of the Raglai people to promote the growth of community tourism in Khanh Hoa province (the former Ninh Thuan province). Through field surveys that utilized qualitative data collection methods, including in-depth interviews in the Bac Ai Tay and Vinh Hai regions, alongside a synthesis of research documents and local policies, the article uncovers a comprehensive system of cultural values that manifests in both tangible and intangible forms. The findings indicate that the interplay between traditional cultural elements and contemporary societal influences has fostered a Raglai culture that is continually evolving while still preserving its distinct characteristics. It is this distinctiveness that has positioned Raglai culture as a vital asset for tourism development, especially considering that the local tourism landscape is currently missing this cultural component.
