ANALYSIS OF THE NĂM ROI POMELO’S VALUE CHAIN IN VIỆT NAM’S SOUTHWEST REGION

Abstract

This research was done in the Southwest Region from 2017 September to 2018 December and value chain approach of GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit-Germany) (now, it is GIZ) was applied to analyze market channels. The research surveyed agents in participating in Năm Roi pomelo value chain such as: growers, collectors, wholesales, retailers, exporters, co-operatives/co-operation groups, input suppliers and value chain supporters. Through the direct interview, results showed that there have had 7 Năm Roi pomelo market channels, in which 95 percent was sold in the domestic market and 5 percent was exported. On the basis of the results of the research, some solutions were recommended to enhance capacities for the agents in the Năm Roi pomelo value chain in production, business and market, and improve and develop commodity chain of Năm Roi pomelo.
