SOCIAL STRATIFICATION RESEARCH IN VIET NAM IN THE 1980s

Abstract

Viet Nam in the late 1970s and 1980s was full of dramatic changes in social structures and human fates. The article gives an overview of social stratification research in Viet Nam in the 1980s. In the space of social science research and discussion at that time, which was much limited and quite isolated from the world, Vietnamese sociologists have tried to pass up themself and the difficult conditions, to saying new statements and doing empirical works, that from today 's point of view remain remarkably.
