WEDDING CEREMONY OF KATU ETHNIC PEOPLE TODAY (Case of Katu People in Aka, Thua Thien - Hue)

Abstract

This article introduces the traditional wedding ceremony as well as current wedding ceremony of Katu ethnic group in Aka Hamlet, Thuong Quang Village, Nam Dong District, Thua Thien - Hue Province. The article shows that, in the process of living closely to other ethnic groups, the marriage tradition of Katu people has been changed due to cultural exchange with others. However, main features of the traditional Katu wedding ceremony have still been reserved until today.
