REAL SITUATION OF SUSTAINABLE POVERTY REDUCTION AMONGST THE STIENG ETHNIC PEOPLE

Abstract

The implementation of the policy of sustainable poverty reduction amongst the Stieng ethnic people so far has obtained several important achievements. However, when analyzing from a multi-dimensional perspective, the poverty rate of this ethnic group remains high, due to shortages in health insurance, adults’ educational level, facilities for access to information and school attendance of children. There are many factors affecting the process of sustainable poverty reduction in Stieng ethnic group, including: low educational and skill level, gender inequality in education and training, most people don’t have technical and professional qualifications, working mainly in agriculture and other simple sectors, some medical and healthcare limitations… Based on the analysis of the current status of the impact factors, the article suggests some solutions for sustainable poverty reduction for Stieng ethnic people.
