HO CHI MINH CITY’S HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

Abstract

In recent years, the term "fourth industrial revolution" has been mentioned a lot and has become an indispensable requirement for economic, social, educational development in many countries around the world, including Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

This research explores the characteristics and trends of the fourth industrial revolution; the impacts of this revolution on economic changes and human resource development in Ho Chi Minh City. On the basis of considering the current human resource situation of Ho Chi Minh City and the responsiveness of human resources to development requirements, economic restructuring due to the impact of the fourth industrial revolution, forecasting human resource development trends, this research has found the problems that need to be solved; suggesting solutions and policies to develop and train human resources for Ho Chi Minh City in the coming period, to meet the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution and digital economic transformation.
