ROLE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE PROCESS OF INDUSTRIALIZATION AND MODERNIZATION IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

Rapid and sustainable economic development on the basis of strong application of science - technology, innovation and increased labor productivity is the first task that the Resolution of the 11^th Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City, the term 2020-2025, has set forth. The article focuses on clarifying the role of science and technology in promoting economic development, economic restructuring, increasing labor productivity and competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City in recent years. On that basis, this article proposes some solutions to develop science and technology to meet the City's goals in the future, which is to be industrialized in the direction of modernity.
