STUDENTS AND CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY – SOME THEORETICAL ISSUES AND SURVEY RESULTS

Abstract

A civilized society requires citizens to have high sense of consciousness and responsibility in harmony with personal and social interests, in which, students’ consciousness and actions play an important role, and have a great influence on society and the community. Through an overview of some theoretical bases on civic responsibility and survey data around student issues and civic responsibility at some universities in Ho Chi Minh City, the article describes the current state of students’ civic responsibility. On that basis, further research is suggested to identify solutions to raise the sense of civic responsibility of Vietnamese students for social development.
