Abstract
In recent years, education for children with intellectual disabilities around the world has tended mainly towards inclusive education - letting children study in the same classroom with normally developing children. This is a goal of modern education. The article introduces some studies on language teaching for children with intellectual disabilities; describe the current situation of teaching materials of phonics and syllable for students with intellectual disabilities to integrate into grade 1 at some primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City and 4 Southern provinces. Thereby, the author aims to propose a plan to develop supporting materials for teaching phonics - syllable for these students.
