SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS – AN OVERVIEW OF RESEARCHES AND APPLICATIONS IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Social Network Analysis (SNA) is a research approach that has been developed strongly in the early 21st century. With strong analytical capabilities based on a structural approach that is increasingly supported by advances in mathematics and software, SNA has become a multidisciplinary approach with high potential for application in many fields of the social science. Based on an overview of recent researches on social networks in Vietnam, the article focuses on understanding some characteristics of research topics and methods, especially in the application of SNA compared to the current trends in the world, thereby suggesting the possibility of applying SNA in social science researches in Vietnam in the coming time.
