Abstract

Jean Jacques Rousseau was known as an excellent and influential figure in human history whose name and career were immortal. His progressive thoughts have had an enormous influence not only in France but also in other countries, not only in the 18^th century but also today. The one with the most profound humanistic value and realistic signification among them is people’s sovereignty thought. Based on the collected documents as well as using the analytical method and the materialist dialectical approach, the article provides a more comprehensive and profound view of the content of people’s sovereignty thought of Jean Jacques Rousseau’s thought in present days.
