THE FISHERY EXPLOITATION ACTIVITIES OF FISHERMEN IN THANH AN COMMUNE, CAN GIO DISTRICT, HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

Thanh An Island is an island in Thanh An Commune, located in Can Gio District. The main livelihood of fishermen here is aquaculture and and fishery exploitation. The article approaches the study of the current status of fisheries exploitation and the impact of weather and environment on fisheries exploitation in Thanh An commune. The study integrates quantitative data collected from 77 households of fishermen surveyed in August 2023 and aims to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges associated with fisheries exploitation activities in the commune at present.
