Abstract
Food security at the household level is the adequate access to food in term of acceptable quantity, quantity, safety and cultural acceptability for all family members. Based on both quantitative and qualitative data, this article analyses the food security situation of Hmong households in Dong Van district, Ha Giang province. The research findings indicate that Hmong households in Dong Van are encountering difficulties in ensuring food security, both in terms of quantity and quality. These challenges arise from factors such as limited agricultural land area, a high poverty rate, and low income levels. Specifically, poverty is the primary factor that accounts for hunger and the necessity of consuming substandard food.
