Inequality in Education: Views from Theoretical Approaches

Abstract
In the 1960s and 1970s, the European and North American countries entered a period of “education boom”, but there was still profound inequality in education in these countries. Therefore, there were many studies with different approaches trying to understand the issue of inequality in education, the chance of success in school, about the relationship between modern schools and the industrial world. This article gives a general introduction to the prominent theoretical approaches to the inequality in education that is of interest to international sociologists, thereby suggesting researches on the subject in Vietnam.
