Abstract

Luce Irigaray has done many extensive studies on the importance of the spatial relationship between men and women in Western culture. Irigaray's ideas provide a valuable theoretical foundation for investigating the various manifestations of genders in architecture as well as the built environment. The article clarifies Luce Irigaray's views on feminist spaces in residential architecture, alluding to building design theory and architectural practice principles aimed for gender equality.
