Abstract

The article presents the main content of G.W.F. Hegel’s thought on alienation of man. First of all, the author analyzes Hegel’s understanding of the term “alienation” along with the related terms that Hegel himself used: “externalization” and “objectification”. Hegel focused on explaining the alienation of humans as self-conscious subjects, in their relations with the objective world as well as in the process of creation of culture and society, and constructing a life with the character of humans. The author also points out the reception, adjustment and criticism by Feuerbach and Marx of the views on alienation of man that Hegel put forth. Finally, the author generally states the value and limitations in Hegel's thought on that alienation.
