Abstract

The strong development of digital technology has led to the explosion of virtual currencies... Virtual currencies provide the world economy with a new form of transaction, a new method, a new type of asset. Management agencies of most countries are quite confused and difficult in building a legal framework as well as methods of managing this type of currency. Vietnamese law currently has no regulations regulating virtual currency or recognizing the legality of this currency, while related transactions are increasing, making handling by authorities difficult. in collecting taxes, executing judgments, and determining crimes for acts related to this type of money. Therefore, these are the issues this study focuses on to clarify the legal status and legality of virtual currency in Vietnam today.
