Abstract
Under the Act East Policy (AEP), maritime diplomacy is considered a strategy to the East of India's navy, which helps the country expand its influence and become a maritime power. Through analysis of policies and research on discourse, it has been found that India's maritime diplomacy reflects three main trends. The first trend is India's increasing involvement in Eastern maritime issues, which is rooted in the country's rich maritime history. The second trend is the tendency of India to form connections with large nations and partners who may have different interests but share the same goal to balance power across the Indo-Pacific region. Lastly, India's maritime diplomacy is indicative of the emergence of maritime powers, with Asia becoming the center of maritime issues of the world in general, and of the world powers in particular.
