Abstract

Cao Đài is an endogenous religion, founded in Southern Vietnam in 1926. But after 1930, the religion was divided into many different sects. What is noteworthy is that, after the formation of the sects, unification was the wish of the entire religion, so before 1975, Cao Đài also had activities for unification conducted in various forms, which resulted in various outcomes. Since 1975, especially during the Đổi mới, or Renovation, period, the religion’s organizations have been recognized as legal entities, leading to the formation of a new, open mechanism - the Conference on Interfaith Practice - among organizations. That is to maintain relationships and implement the direction of "Glorious Country - Enlightening Religion" identified by the religion. The article, based on synthesizing, analyzing and evaluating the initial steps in the open mechanism of this Conference, gives some comments on its activities at present.
