Kinh nghiệm của Thái Lan trong phát triển xã hội ở cộng đồng Islam giáo khu vực biên giới phía Nam

Abstract

Over the last two decades, the southern border area of Thailand has been experiencing many security and social instabilities as a result of extremist Islamic forces conducting terrorist attacks against the government with the aim of demanding independence and secession. This article analyzes the current situation and experience in social development of the area since the conflict broke in 2004. Key issues primarily analyzed are: Education reform; healthcare; labor and employment; drug issues and drug prevention. This article also provides some assessments of the achievements and existing limitations, as well as some of Thailand's main orientations for social development of the southern border area in the coming years.
