Abstract

Notion of family values is the recognition and evaluation of family values. This article clarifies the notion of family values expressed in husband-wife relationships in three generations (young, middle-aged and old). Questionnaire survey on 200 participants showed that there are many similarities between three generations in the notions of traditional values such as marital fidelity and harmony. In addition, the notion of financial independence within marriage, late marriage, and having few children is affirmed to some extent. Those reflect the continuity and change of values in life. These results are an important basis for each family member to understand and accept the unity and diversity of each person's notion. In addition, consultation and policy making on families also need to recognize different notions in an objective and inevitable way to build a happy and sustainable family.
