Những chấn thương đô thị và sự khủng hoảng bản sắc trong tiểu thuyết của Phong Điệp
Abstract
This article analyzes three works by Phong Điệp (Lost in the city, Blogger, and Memory station) from the perspective of gender research. As a dynamic contemporary female writer, Phong Điệp is interested in the urban trauma and the identity crisis among urban youth, especially in young girls from the provinces coming to the city to settle down and face several pitfalls and challenges. Phong Điệp's works are the voice of a group of vulnerable women and young girls who are harassed and abused in workplaces. Besides, the article emphasizes the tendency to express the spirit of feminism in Phong Điệp through the assertion of women's right to happiness and freedom of choice. The article also contributes to the study of female writing style through the creative imprints of author Phong Điệp as a typical case of contemporary Vietnamese female novels.
