Abstract

Aiming to compile a model of dictionaries of names of spiritual places, the paper explores the concepts of “place names”, “spirituality”, “dictionaries of names of spiritual places”... Those bases contribute to the macro - and microstructure of such dictionaries, while a number of sample entries are compiled. The new trait in the entries are their focus on providing stories and legends related to the place, and considering them to be the factors that create the spirituality and uniqueness of the place as compared with other ones. Dictionaries of names of spiritual places compiled in line with the model will contribute to the promotion of tourism to the localities and their cultures and history.
