Thực hiện pháp luật về bình đẳng giới trong gia đình
Abstract
Implementing law on gender equality is among what is needed to have progressive, happy and civilized families. Recently, many legal documents on gender equality have been promulgated and implemented in Vietnam, which have been effective in fundamentally changing awareness of gender issues and creating a relationship of equality, democracy and respect and sharing of housework. However, the gender gap still persists in family relationships, with men being the “pillars of the home”, making important decisions, and women being still the main ones in carrying out domestic work. Some women remain under pressure to bear sons, and their participation in the family decision-making process is limited. It is, therefore, necessary to continue to synchronously implement solutions to promote gender equality, contributing to enhancing the status, role and ensuring human rights in Vietnam today.
