Abstract
Along with the discovery of the foundation traces of wooden architectural works of the Đại La period (7th - 9th century), a large number of roof tiles were also found in the Thăng Long Imperial Citadel relic site. Tubular roof tiles are one of many types of tiles. With the diverse shapes and decorative patterns of the artifacts excavated in the Thăng Long Imperial Citadel, it partly shows the shape of the roof architecture of the center of power during the An Nam đô hộ phủ. The results of the study of classification and adjustment of the types of roof tiles of Đại La period show the diversity of patterns, manufacturing techniques and functions of each type of tile on the roof of the building. The decorative patterns on the roof tiles are uniquely expressed in many styles, reflecting the very high level of technique and art of the architecture of Đại La period in history.
