Đào tạo giáo viên trung học tại miền Nam Việt Nam (1954-1975): Trường hợp Trường Đại học Sư phạm Sài Gòn
Abstract
Improving the quality of the teaching staff is a key factor in developing an education. Based on archival materials from the National Archives Center II on education in South Vietnam under the Saigon regime, this study analyzes the teacher training activities for secondary schools at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Saigon. The study also assesses the impact of the teacher training activities of the Faculty of Pedagogy of Saigon on the high education reform in South Vietnam under the Saigon regime. This comprehensive educational reform transformed the education system from the French model to the American model. From the research results, the article suggests some historical experiences for teacher training in particular and the current educational reform in Vietnam in general.
