Evaluation of new coordinated control structure with coordinated control structures of Flyn and Hai Phong thermal power plant

Abstract

The paper presents a comparison and assessment of three structures of boiler-turbine coordinated control which
are deployed at Hai Phong thermal power plant, developed by Flyn and the new coordinated control designed by
the authors. This paper analyses similarities and differences of these control structures, as well as shows
outstanding advantages of the new coordinated control in term of following setpoint and fuel saving. Finally,
the simulation results using data collected from Hai Phong thermal power plant also verify that the new
coordinated control structure has more advantages than the other because of its simple strucutre, easy operation,
and adjustement.
