Some assessments of the current status and orentation for perfecting drilling and blasting work for Vinacomin openpit coal mines in Quang Ninh region

Abstract

The assessment of the current status and orientation for perfecting drilling and blasting work on open-pit coal mines in the Quang Ninh region of Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) is one of the bases for researching and perfecting drilling and blasting works for those mines. Evaluation results show that the drilling and blasting parameters that have been being used on open-pit coal mines are not completely consistent with recent research results and excavation practices in the world. Specifically, at present, mines are using mainly isosceles triangle networks, loading explosives according to a continuous or combined scheme, the outer and inner rows are continuously loaded, the middle rows are loaded segmentally. However, the segmentation of drug rates is not completely reasonable. It needs to be researched and calculated to ensure a more evenly level of crushing and suitable for each specific equipment synchronization line, especially the rock crushing station and conveyor system at Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company - TKV.
