Abstract

Radiation dosimetry materials are being studied by scientists to create passive dosimeters in environment dosimetry as well as personal dosimetry. The research team conducted experimental studies and investigated the characteristics of LiAlO2 material for dosimetry applications. On the basis of analysis and synthesis of LiAlO2, preliminary investigation of dosimetry characteristics, including background, linearity, uniformity, the sensitivity of thermoluminescent
(TL) signal, reusability, dose-response and fading of TL signals after LiAlO2 being irradiated by gamma. The results show that LiAlO2 has a detection limit of 6.09 nC, uniformity of 6.98%. The investigation of the 2-40 mGy dose range showed good linearity, with a fluctuation of 8.8% between the measured dose and the irradiation dose. The fading of the TL signal maintained 90 days after being irradiated was 6%. The results of the tests measuring the reusability of the LiAlO2 powder sample show a standard deviation of 3.63% from 10 measurements. The distribution of the measurements is quite uniform, and the sensitivity remains almost unchanged during use, indicating a high reusability. The results of the research and investigation lead to the conclusion that LiAlO2 has the
potential for application in radiation dose measurement.
