Influence of internal communication on employee happiness and performance at commercial banks in Hanoi
Abstract
This research analyses the influence of internal communication on employee happiness and employee performance at commercial banks in Hanoi. The data collected from a survey of 309 bank employees processed through SmartPLS4 software shows that the impact of internal communication on employee happiness is the strongest. Followed by the impact of employee happiness on employee performance, and finally the direct impact of internal communication
on employee performance. The study also confirms that employee happiness plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between internal communication and employee performance at commercial banks in Hanoi. The research also proposes some recommendations for managers at commercial banks to improve internal communication activities aimed at increasing employee happiness and employee performance. However, this study has only focused on proposing internal communication methods and enhancing employee participation in internal communication activities. Therefore, future research will aim to optimise the internal communication system to enhance employee happiness and improve employee performance in commercial banks.
