SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF PROTECTION FORESTS IN HA TINH PROVINCE

Abstract

As a province in the North Central region that is often affected by natural disasters and floods, forest coverage is increasingly important not only in Ha Tinh province but also in the whole region. Through the method of collecting secondary documents and descriptive statistics, the study assesses the fluctuations in forest area, achievements, difficulties and limitations in the protection and development of special-use forests in Ha Tinh province. The results showed that the development of special-use forest area in the period of 2015 - 2022 is stable. Management work has significantly limited violations of forest protection laws, minimized damage caused by forest fires and deforestation, and revenue for forest development is increasing day by day. However, the protection and development of special-use forests are facing many difficulties and limitations due to natural conditions and socio-economic development activities, lack of synchronization of policy documents, inadequate investment, and limited application of science and technology in forest management, exploitation, and processing of forest products. In the coming time, Ha Tinh province needs to synchronously deploy solutions to achieve the goal of sustainable management of special-use forests.
