Đánh giá hiệu quả xử lý nước hồ Tiên Nga (Thành phố Hải Phòng) bằng cây bách thủy tiên (Echinodorus cordifolius L.)
Abstract
Organic pollution and eutrophication in the urban lakes of Hai Phong City demand timely and sustainable remediation strategies. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Echinodorus cordifolius L. in treating the water of Tien Nga Lake using a floating treatment wetland (FTW) model. The results revealed that the FTW system achieved average removal efficiencies for BOD₅ (48.1%), COD (46.4%), total nitrogen (TN) (70.8%), and total phosphorus (TP) (68.5%). The system also significantly improved physical parameters (turbidity, pH), bringing the post-treatment concentrations of dissolved ôxygen (DO) and TP to meet the Level B standard of the Vietnamese National Technical Regulation (QCVN 08:2023/BTNMT). Although the post-treatment concentrations of COD and TN remained high, these findings indicate that E. cordifolius is a promising and effective biological agent for improving water quality in polluted urban lakes.
