Giảm phát thải CO₂ trong chuỗi giá trị cà phê hướng tới nông nghiệp bền vững
Abstract
The study assessed the amount of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) across the entire coffee value chain in Lam Dong province from cultivation, harvesting, and processing to consumption applying the 2006 IPCC Guidelines. The results showed that CO2 emissions from the coffee chain are 14,300 kg CO2ha-1year-1, mainly originating from chemical fertilizers (42%), fossil fuels (36%), and electricity (22%). Concurrently, organic coffee cultivation also demonstrated significant CO2 absorption capacity, averaging 17,249 kg CO2ha-1year-1. Proposed solutions included using organic fertilizers, biochar from coffee husks, water-saving irrigation systems, renewable energy, and digital technology. The combination of technical, technological, and policy solutions can significantly reduced CO2 emissions, contributing to sustainable coffee development.
