Nghiên cứu hạch toán giá trị dịch vụ hệ sinh thái đất ngập nước tỉnh Quảng Ninh giai đoạn 2015 - 2020
Abstract
Quang Ninh is a representative coastal province with a diverse wetland ecosystem (WES) comprising mangrove forests, coastal lagoons, seagrass beds, and several inland lakes. These ecosystems not only possess significant ecological value but also drive the development of ecotourism and aquaculture. This study aims to account for the value of ecosystem services (ES) provided by wetlands in Quang Ninh Province during the 2015-2020 period, thereby quantifying their contribution to the green economy. The research applies the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting - Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA, 2021) framework, integrating Landsat 8 remote sensing data and Geographic Information System (GIS) analyses to develop extent, condition, and service accounts. Results indicate that while the total wetland area decreased by 5.7%, the overall economic value of wetland ecosystem services increased by 59%, from VND 7,725.8 billion in 2015 to VND 12,289.4 billion in 2020. Provisioning services (mainly fisheries) accounted for the largest share, whereas cultural services-particularly ecotourism-declined due to the impacts of COVID-19 and mangrove degradation. The study provides scientific evidence to support sustainable management and spatial planning, while also testing the applicability of the SEEA EA framework for provincial-level ecosystem accounting in Vietnam.
