SOME SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGE OF THAI PEOPLE IN SON LA PROVINCE

Abstract

Abnormal changes in temperature, rainfall and extreme weather phenomena are the clearest expressions of climate change. They have affected every aspect of the lives of Thai people in Son La province. They also cause the reduction of productivity and quality of crops and livestock, the increases of cost of re-farming; the damages of infrastructure, the increases of diseases for humans and livestock, the disruption of education, at the same time negative impacts on the living environment as well, etc... The article evaluates the results as well as difficulties and challenges in responding to climate change of Thai people in Son La province with the above situation. On that basis, the author suggests some solutions to improve effectivelythis ethnic group’s responses to climate change.
