DECORATION ON SOME BRONZE BELLS OF THE NGUYEN DYNASTY IN QUANG BINH PROVINCE

Abstract

The bronze bell is not only a Buddhist instrument but also a tangible heritage of the indigenous community, through the decorations and inscriptions on the bell, one can see its aesthetic, cultural and historical value. In Quang Binh province, the number of Nguyen dynasty bells in pagodas is not many, but they still show quite typical shaping and decorative features of the Nguyen dynasty. Through the method of field research, synthesis, collection and analysis of documents, the authors launched this research with the purpose of understanding the current situation. At the same time, the authors analyze, make statistics of the decoration system and make some comments on the historical and aesthetic value of Nguyen bronze bells at some pagodas in Quang Binh province, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Buddhist cultural values in the flow of national art.
