Abstract

Ha Giang is a highland province in the Northeastern region of Vietnam, including a city and 10 districts, this place has rugged and majestic terrain with many unique natural resources that contribute to the creation of typical tourism products that attract domestic and foreign tourists. Ha Giang's population is about 935,700 people, of which 79.81% is rural and 20.19% is urban (General Statistics Office, 2022), ethnic minorities are mainly Mong, Tay, Dao, Kinh, Nung… With rich tourism resources bestowed by nature, along with rural resources and traditional and unique cultural characteristics of ethnic minorities. Therefore, developing tourism associated with rural areas to improve the lives of local residents is the right strategy of the leaders of Ha Giang province. Nam Dam village, Quan Ba commune is a typical model in this tourism activity. The content of the article will summarize the conditions and situation of rural tourism development in Nam Dam, the role of rural tourism for local residents. Towards replicating this model in order to improve the social life of local residents in terms of economy, politics and environment for sustainable development.
