Abstract

The idea of this article stems from the point of view of a “Hegemony Panduranga” given by G. Maspero as a common name for the Champa Kingdom in the VIIIth and IXth centuries. In it, at the beginning of the article, I interpret and analyze Maspero’s views, as well as reevaluate the historical arguments related it. Central content is the pivotal point to this research, I re-identified the characters and events related to the Champa history during that period through the data recorded in the inscriptions in Kauthara and Panduranga. Finally, my research wants to point out the basic characteristic elements, identifying the role, significance and heritage of this era in the whole process of Champa history and civilization. The hypotheses and arguments that I raise in this article have been given by scholars before, but have never had a thorough explanation for these views.
