Movement Đồng khởi in Thừa Thiên Huế Province
from 1964 to the beginning of 1965
The movement of Đồng khởi in rural areas in Thừa Thiên Huế plain was the rebellion in majority of the people, mainly based on political forces, combined with the armed forces, against the weakest stage of the enemy in the countryside to take ownership over the whole province. Đồng khởi movement in districts Phong Điền, Quảng Điền, Phú Vang, Phú Lộc and Hương Thủy, have affirmed maturity and growth of the Party Committee of the province and districts, contributing to proving the guidelines of Party’s ingenious leadership - the path of revolutionary violence - political violence supported by the armed forces. In this article, we will clarify causes, developments and results of the movement Đồng khởi in Thừa Thiên Huế, and then draw conclusions about its role in rural plain from 1964 to the beginning of 1965 for the Vietnamese revolution in general and Thừa Thiên Huế liberation in particular.
