Abstract

In the history of linguistics, several studies have addressed existential sentences. However, they have typically focused on the most general aspects of this sentence type. Among these studies, the work of Diep Quang Ban (1981, 1998) stands out as a foundational study, laying the groundwork for research on existential sentences. Our paper continues to explore existential sentences by constructing a systematic set of rules for identifying these sentences, analyzing their structural patterns, and, notably, providing a detailed description of verbs and adjectives that can serve as the predicate's core. Additionally, we examine the adverbial and complement components in detail.
