Research on the element bạch (白) in the Sino-Nôm bilingual work Truyền kì mạn lục

Abstract

This research studies the element bach 白 in the bilingual Han-Nom work TKML using methods such as comparison - history, historical comparison, contrastive analysis and translation studies. The research explores the origin, meaning and functional capacity of bach 白 in the Han text TKML. At the same time, the study analyzes how bach 白 and words with the element bach 白 are translated from Han into Nom. Through this analysis, the research aims to identify the characteristics of prose texts written in Nom in the 16th century and the method of Nom pronunciation. The study also investigate the integration of the Nom pronunciation method with Vietnamese and words with the word bach 白 and words with the element bach 白 in TKML. By doing so, it contributes to determining the correlation between Chinese and Vietnamese texts as well as the evolution of the Vietnamese language.
