Criticism strategies employed by judges in The voice Vietnam 2018

Abstract

The research aims to (1) examine the criticism strategies employed by judges in the 2018 season of The Voice Vietnam, and (2) demonstrate how cultural traits influence the selection of these criticism strategies. Through a detailed analysis of the corpus, it was determined that judges utilized three primary criticism strategies: direct, indirect, and combined. Nevertheless, influenced by cultural factors, Vietnamese judges predominantly favored indirect strategies. This study also offers insights for enhancing the understanding and delivery of criticism within the Vietnamese context.
