Abstract
Repairs constitute one of the most common phenomena in conversational interaction and have recently attracted increasing scholarly attention in Vietnam. Their primary function is to explain, adjust, or clarify in order to resolve problems that arise during interaction, thereby ensuring the coherence and continuity of conversation. Beyond this core function, repairs also serve a range of other pragmatic purposes. This paper examines several of these pragmatic functions in the context of Vietnamese conversational discourse.
