Word Formation in the Hani Language in Lai Chau Province

Abstract
According to genealogical classification, Hani belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family, Tibeto-Karen branch, Tibeto-Burman sub-branch, and Burmese-Loloish group. Hani is an isolating languguage. Word formation in Hani mainly occurs through compounding and reduplication, exhibiting diverse and unique patterns. The paper describes the characteristics of word formation in the Hani language spoken in Lai Chau province of Vietnam.
