Abstract

Abstract: As a vulnerable group, people with disabilities face risks, injustices, and
discrimination in various aspects of life, particularly in accessing education and
employment opportunities. This article highlights that whilst guaranteeing the rights of
people with disabilities to education and employment is a prerequisite for them to lead
stable, independent, and integrated lives in society, ensuring access to justice is
essential for people with disabilities to protect themselves against injustices and
discrimination in education and employment. The article also indicates that over the
past decade, State policies and laws and social awareness regarding people with
disabilities, and the status of people with disabilities themselves have changed in a
positive way. However, efforts from the State, society, and the international community
are still necessary to promote the self-determination and upward of people with
disabilities, thereby contributing to sustainable development in Viet Nam.
