Abstract

Abstract: The 2021 Law on Drug Prevention and Control in Vietnam mandates
compulsory detoxification for drug-addicted individuals aged 12 to 18 who refuse
voluntary treatment. While not classified as an administrative penalty, this measure
involves significant coercion by isolating the subject from society. This article examines
the rights of minors subjected to this process, analyzes the legal framework, and
proposes recommendations to enhance the law and protect the well-being of young
individuals.
