Abstract

Abstract: This article examines and assesses the compatibility of Viet Nam’s legal
framework with the International Maritime Organization’s Guidance on investigating
and prosecuting wildlife‑trafficking offences committed at sea. On that basis, the authors
put forward recommendations for improving Viet Nam’s legal framework so as to
bolster the effectiveness of investigations and prosecutions of wildlife‑trafficking
offences via maritime routes in accordance with IMO Guidance FAL.5/Circ.50.
