Abstract

Abstract: The article examines the history of the formation, development and
content of the right to freedom of navigation in the international law of the sea,
especially as reflected in the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. At
the same time, through an analysis of some recent cases, the article clarifies the views of
the Russian Federation in the practice of interpreting and applying the provisions of the
law of the sea on the right to freedom of navigation.
