Abstract
Abstract: In the context of increasingly deep and extensive international trade, the
determination of the jurisdiction of national courts has also evolved. The extension of
the jurisdiction of the Court is no longer strictly limited by the geographical territory of
the State but is interpreted and applied to respond to the new context, while still
respecting the traditional territorial principle. The article examines the experience of the
United States, in comparison with Vietnamese law, regarding the application of the
doctrine of the “long arm” of the Court in the current context of international trade,
thereby putting forward some recommendations to improve Vietnamese law.
Keywords: “Long arm” jurisdiction, jurisdiction, US court, Vietnamese court,
international trade.
